Chilocorus circumdatus is a predatory ladybird beetle supplied by Bugs for Bugs. Adults and larvae both feed on armoured scale. Supplied as a pack of 50 adult beetles.
What it controls
Armoured scale only — red scale, oriental scale, oleander scale and white louse scale (citrus snow scale). It will not control soft scale. If soft scale or mealybug is the problem, Cryptolaemus is the one you want.
Orchards: minimum 1,000 beetles per hectare, every 2–3 weeks as needed
On arrival, tap them out of the container onto foliage near the scale infestation. Beetle bags are sold separately.
Storage
In extreme heat or heavy rain they can be held for a couple of days in a dark room at 10–18°C.

We don't keep live insects sitting on a shelf. When you place an order we bring them in from the insectary, then repack and dispatch them the same day they reach us, with cool packs. Allow around a week door to door, and release them as soon as they arrive.
