Eretmocerus hayati is a parasitoid wasp supplied by Bugs for Bugs, used against whitefly. The wasps parasitise whitefly nymphs. Supplied as 10 small plastic vials with cotton plug inserts, 500 wasps per vial — 5,000 wasps in total.
What it controls
Silverleaf whitefly (Bemisia tabaci).
Release rates
Field crops: 5,000 wasps per hectare per release; five releases 2–3 weeks apart
Greenhouses: 5 wasps/m² per release; weekly releases starting before or at the first sign of whitefly activity
Storage
Store at room temperature and out of direct sunlight until the first wasps emerge, then release as soon as adult activity is visible. If you have to delay, they can be held for up to two days at 8–12°C.
