Dalotia coriaria is a small predatory rove beetle for pests living in and on the growing media. Adults and larvae both hunt through the top layer. Supplied as a pack of 1,000 beetles, packed in cardboard tubs with sawdust.
What it controls
Fungus gnats, shore flies, western flower thrips, root aphids, root mealybugs, moth flies, springtails, carrot fly and cabbage root fly.
Release rates
Preventative: 2–5 beetles/m², two releases 1–2 weeks apart
Curative or hotspots: 10 beetles/m², weekly as needed
Applied in small piles directly onto the surface of the growing medium.
Storage
Release as soon as possible after delivery. Tubs can be held on their side for up to three days at 8–12°C — cooler than the mite products, so don't store them together.
