Cucumeris (Neoseiulus cucumeris) is a predatory mite supplied by Bugs for Bugs, used mainly against thrips. It feeds on the young larval stages on foliage and in flowers, before they are old enough to do real damage.

What it controls

Western flower thrips and onion thrips.

Options

  • Tube — 10,000 mites
  • Tube — 100,000 mites, for commercial-scale releases
  • Sachets — pack of 10. Slow release: hang one per plant.

Release rates

  • Preventative: 50 mites/m², three releases two weeks apart
  • Curative: 50–100 mites/m², every 1–2 weeks as needed
  • Hotspots: 100–250 mites/m², every 1–2 weeks as needed
  • Onions in storage: 20,000 mites per tonne, single application

Storage

Release as soon as possible after delivery. Tubes can be held on their side for up to three days at 10–18°C.
